Gîte Bonnefontaine
This contemporary new build offers a spacious open plan living area with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms all on one level, making it wheelchair friendly. The house is highly insulated, energy conscious, with a low carbon footprint. Located just 300m from the centre of Barenton, a lovely village with lots of amenities, including a supermarket, pharmacy, boulangerie, tabac, and bar.

Your hosts – Maxine and Mark
Maxine and Mark moved to France in 2018 to semi retire and for Maxine to enjoy the show jumping competitions in the region with her 2 horses.
Mark, as a construction manager and carpenter, wanted to renovate a property so La Mousandiére was chosen for its beautiful rural location.
The house was renovated first, then the barn and chicken shed were transformed into the gîte.
During the pandemic, Mark decided he wanted to construct an eco house, so he designed and built Gite Bonnefontaine, a modern, timber frame, highly insulated, energy conscious, low carbon footprint house.

Things to do in the area
There are plenty of local places of interest nearby: Mont St Michel, Château Bonnefontaine, La Fosse Arthour, St Malo, the D-Day landing beaches and museums, and the castles at Fougères, Mayenne and Lassay. Le Mans, with its well-known 24-hour race track, is just a short car journey away. There’s something for everyone.
